The "2025 Foreign Taekwondo Contest Festival" will be held on October 25 (Saturday) at Kukkiwon, where more than 800 foreigners from Korea, including U.S. troops, international students, and workers, will participate.

The competition festival, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., will be hosted by Gangnam-gu Office (Director Cho Sung-myung), co-organized by Kukkiwon (Director Yoon Woong-seok) and the Foreign Taekwondo Culture Association in Korea (Chairman Kim Moon-ok), and sponsored by Shinhan Bank.

The event was designed to promote the excellence of Taekwondo, a unique martial art in Korea, to the world and to promote cultural exchange and harmony between countries. More than 800 participants will strengthen their friendship by competing in five sports, including competition, pumsae, speed kicks, hand-blanking, and high jump kicks.

In addition to the competition, booths around Kukkiwon where visitors can experience a variety of K-culture such as rice cake making, jumping, archery, and jegichagi are also operated, adding to the richness of the festival.

The opening ceremony will feature a spectacular celebration performance by the Taekwondo Demonstration Team of Kukkiwon, which will heighten the atmosphere of the competition festival. In addition, major guests, including the ambassadors of Estonia, Gabon, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Uruguay, will attend the ceremony, including Yoon Woong-seok, head of the Kukkiwon, and Cho Sung-myung, head of Gangnam-gu.

Meanwhile, Kukkiwon is actively conducting Taekwondo education for foreigners at a total of 49 educational centers, including 26 U.S. troops in Korea, as part of the 'foreign taekwondo distribution project in Korea'.
